[ˈhɛənə ˈlɪpɚd̚] or [ˈhanə ˈlɪpəd]
(depending on your variety of English)
I’m a 3rd-year linguistics grad student at UCLA. My research interests include semantics & pragmatics, language documentation & fieldwork, and morphosyntax. I’m particularly interested in information structure in Bantu languages. I wrote my MA thesis on the pragmatics of object marker doubling in Cinyungwe.
As a queer and disabled grad student and academic worker at UCLA – and the current president of the Graduate Linguistics Circle (GLC) – I join Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and my union caucus Rank and File for a Democratic Union (RnFDU) in demanding the abolition of policing on campus and an end to our university’s investment in genocide and war.
I use feminine pronouns (she/her). Beyond linguistics, I like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, comic books, roller coasters, cats, piano, and board/video games.
